One of the worst transmission repair shops Iโve ever dealt with. The staff is extremely rude and has no idea how to treat customers professionally. I took my car there for a transmission inspection, and they quoted me $6,000 for the repair. When I told them I wanted to take my car elsewhere, they suddenly said they could do the same job for $4,000. That immediately made me question their honesty. I ended up selling the car as-is, and later found out the only issue was that the transmission was low on fluid. There was no major transmission failure at all. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. If you have transmission problems, take your vehicle to the official dealership or a qualified specialist you can trust.

The wrecker brought my work truck to AAMCO as the transmission began to slip badly. They promptly diagnosed the problem and tendered an estimate that was fair and reasonable. I was called when they discovered an additional exhaust problem and was presented with an additional (and accurate) estimate. I was kept informed throughout the repair, informed of any delays and allowed access to my work truck regularly to get tools and parts. This is my second experience with major transmission repairs at this shop and I find them to be extremely accomodating and timely - this truck is my main source of income. Thanks to the crew at AAMCO in State College, PA - they are not just another "chain" repair shop. I am quite pleased and recommend you check them out.

This place is an absolute joke. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. Most of the conversation was with Mark, the shop manager. On 8/10/25 my fiancรฉ dropped his car off to get a 2nd opinion from AAMCO about issues with a slipping torque converter & transmission. On 8/11/25, AAMCO called him & asked why his car was there. After explaining why, they called back later & said he needed a new transmission. He dropped his car back off at AAMCO on 8/17/25 after Mark Gabriel said it would be done in a week. On 8/18/25, he received another call asking why my car was there. He told them the transmission was being replaced. He called back & talked to Mark to make sure everything was settled since he received the confused call that morning. Mark said everything was right & sent him a quote for a total of $5631.07. My fiancรฉ called back to AAMCO on 8/22/25 to check on his car since it was supposed to be done & he had not heard anything. They said that it would be done the following week. My fiancรฉ had called multiple times trying to get updates. He did finally talk to Mark 9/4/25 & Mark told him the transmission was in & would be first on the list Monday 9/8/25. On 9/9/25, Mark stated that he

I contacted the manager in June about potentially needing a transmission rebuild in my 19 Silverado. The manager told me it would run me around 6,000 for everything and I told him this truck was just a backup that I wasnโt in a hurry to get it repaired that I would pay him whatever I could until the full 6,000 was paid then I would bring him my truck and he could start to work on it. Well about a month after I had already gave the x amount of money, the dealership called me informing me that I have a recall on the valve body for said transmission. Truck went to dealership an when I got it back I drove it for a couple months to make sure this fixed the issue and it did. I contacted the manager and informed he I did not need the shop to do any work and that I would like my money back and he told me he couldnโt do so. He never gave me a reason just said he would call his manager and then call me back (which he never did). No parts were ordered no work was done and I didnโt sign no payment agreement they just pocketed my money and pretty much told me to get lost. Iโm guessing potential legal steps to retrieve my money.
